
Why go to Vienna ?
The capital of Austria is full of charm, between tradition and modernity, this is a magical city that you should definitively visit.
Imperial city, capital of the Habsbourg empire, Vienna is rich in history. Very green and clean, the Danube and canal of Danube crossing the city, the surrounding is also really pleasant. Adding street art, good food and nice beers, there is something for everyone !
What to do in Vienna ?
Sightseeing
In Vienna, the most likely to be seen :
Schönbrunn Palace and its garden : former imperial residence of the iconic princess Sissi and Franz Joseph, this is the most symbolic and famous monument of Austria.
Hofburg : walk around this huge complex that used to be city center former imperial residence, now devided into different areas. One is the current residence and workplace of the Austrian president. Others are spanish riding school, national library and museums. Really close you can also admire the Rathaus, Vienna city mall, with an air of princess castle.

Hundertwasser House
Naschmarkt : biggest producer market with good restaurants : to see and treat your taste buds
Food
Vienna is very famous for its pastries and particurlarly for its Sachertorte that you can taste at Café Sperl. Phil is also a really nice place, bookshop&coffee full of charm.
Vienna is also inseparable of the schnitzel that you definitively have to taste. For that you should go at 7Sternbräu, a brewery in the heart of Vienna where you can have really nice beers and food.
For lunch we strongly recommand you to go to the Naschmarkt : everything looks so good that the most difficult part will be to choose where and what to eat !
Accomodation
Wombats City Hostel The Lounge located at the end of Vienna main shopping street is a really clean and nice hostel to stay. Usually 4 beds per rooms for 20€/personne/night depending on the period.
How to go to Vienna?
The easiest way to go to Vienna from Budapest is to take the train from Budapest Keleti train station. The train goes directly to Vienna city center arriving at Vienna Hauptbahnof train station and it takes 2 hours and 40 minutes. You can buy your ticket directly at Keleti train station at the international office. There are departures every 1 or 2 hours. It will cost around 30€ to go and to return.
The train is really confortable and the WIFI is included.
