From Budapest to ... Ljubljana !

Why go to Ljubljana?

We were absolutely amazed by the beauty of Slovenia and its cute little city Ljubljana. Did you know that the capital happens to be one of Europe’s greenest and most liveable cities? Ljubljana won the award for the Green Capital of Europe this year! The city is quite small, but has a lot of charm with its large amount of terraces along the river and city centre. There are more than 50,000 students, so this makes the nightlife and clubbing scene very active.

We would highly recommend to combine this trip with a (half) day-trip to Lake Bled. Just one-and-a-half hour bus ride away from the city centre, you’ll find yourself in the middle of the nature, with a beautiful, crystal clear lake. Be ready to be mind blown!

What to do in Ljubljana?

Sightseeing

- Ljubljana Castle: for a scenic view of the city

- Central Market: have a sneak peak at the daily market offerings

- Prešernov Trg: Central Square in the middle of the city. From here you’ll have a nice view on the three connected bridges and surrounding buildings.

Nightlife

- Holiday Pub: one of the best bars in Ljubljana according to Tripadvisor. This bar has a wide range of tap and bottled beers and it’s perfect for a chill night, playing cards and having a good conversation

- Nebotičnik Skyscraper Bar: for a 360 degrees view over the city, while sipping a delicious cocktail! Food

- Druga Violin: just across the Academy of Music, this restaurant main theme is musical too (their menu is shaped like a violin). This is the place for a very pleasant dinner for an affordable price.
